This is our van. We named her WIKE, pronounced whic-ee which was taken from every other letter from her number plate.
She is a 2016 Bailey Approach Autograph 730. The engine is Peugeot Boxer 2.2 diesel. Length is 7.7mtrs, width 2.2mtrs and width is 2.7mtrs. She weight 3.5 ton. On average we get 30 mpg.
We chose this model as it best suited our needs. We spent four years looking for the right van for us and kept coming back to Bailey. Our criteria was quite specific, we knew we wanted a separate bedroom with a fixed bed as we didn’t want the hassle of making up the bed every night. We also wanted a shower big enough so you didn’t hit your elbows on the walls when washing your hair. Another must for us was floor space. We have a large dog who we take with us on weekends away so needed room for him to lie down.
The day we bought her we had actually gone to see a different van, but it was not for us. I sat in the van and looked on the garages website to see what else they had, and there was Wike. She was actually parked next to the one we were sitting in. After getting the keys from the salesman, we had a good look round, it felt like home. That was it, I wasn’t going anywhere until we bought her. A week later, fully serviced and a new MOT, she came home and off we went that very day!
