Fitting solar panels

This is the most expensive upgrade we have done but I have to say it has been worth every penny.  The most expensive item were the batteries at £699 each, and we have two, but the Smart Lithium Iron Phosphate are very safe and there is an app we can use on our phones to monitor them.

We went for four 160 watt panels that we spread round the roof with the aim of catching the sun at anytime of the day.  The panels are quite light so didn’t add much to the payload.  Having this amount of solar means we don’t have to plug in to EHU when we are away and don’t have to worry about running out, even on cloudy days.

Below is all the kit we used with costings.
