Football, Kelpies and Clay Pidgeon Shooting

I had booked us into the CMC Edinburgh club site for 2 nights so we could spend some time with Donald’s children.  Little did I know that England would get into a cup final on the same day.  As, being English, I had to support my country so we raced up to Edinburgh, dumped the van at the site and headed into the city to find a pub to watch the game in.  Having skipped lunch we were really hungry but the only place we could find that could fit us had stopped serving food.

It was a very exciting games that even went to penalties.  Unfortunately England didn’t take home the cup but that didn’t spoil the night.  The atmosphere in Edinburgh was incredible, full of Italian fans singing in the street as we waited for the night bus back to the site.

The next day we had lunch in Edinburgh and took the paddleboard out on the sea in Leith.

The following day we headed off to the Kelpies.  We had wanted to go to the Falkirk wheel but all the tickets had sold out.  Still, you can park in the car park for the night at the Kelpies.  We had arranged to meet a friend who picked us up and took us clay pigeon shooting, this is something neither of us had done before and we discovered that I was quite good at it!  Must be all those years playing Xbox!

Following on from the shooting we went for a bit of off road driving.  I am not a good passenger so wasn’t going to do it but Donald came back smiling so I was talked into giving it a go.  Our driver took it really slow, and I survived!

From here it was back to the van where I cooked us all dinner, then a wonder round the Kelpies at night to see them all lit up.

It wasn’t the quietest nights sleep, as ‘boy racers’ decided to cruse the car park.
