Kinloch Rannoch and Findhorn

After a busy few days we needed son rest so we headed for Kinloch Rannoch.  I had found this on Search4Sites and it had really good reviews.  It was a layby at the end of Loch Rannoch.  To get there was quite a long drive down single track roads but it was worth the journey.

The sun was shining, although it was a bit windy.  We spent 2 nights here messing around on the water.  The van was parked 10 steps away from the beach.

There was only one other caravan here and a few people came for the day, but we almost had the place to ourselves.  This gave us a chance to unwind,  I caught up on the washing, cooked a pizza from scratch on the Cadac and messed around on the paddleboard.

There were a few people in tents in the woods and the council here had catered for them by putting in temporary toilets and waste bins that were cleaned twice a day.

From here we headed to Findhorn West Beach where they have set up a motorhome stopover.  The site is bookable online and the barrier recognised your number plate to let you in.  It is flat level parking with water, grey and black waste and bins.

The beach is stunning.  We walked down the beach and had coffee in the café followed by an afternoon lazing on the beach, I even went for a paddle.
