We were parked in the car park at Hayling Island after spending the day out on the paddleboards. Before we headed off I decided to have a shower, I had fallen in the water! When I had finished Donald noticed a big puddle of water by the hab door. A few days later at home I set off to investigate where the water was coming from. Where the shower tray attached to the wall had quite a large crack in the silicone. This meant that I had to re-seal it.
I used a silicone remover gel to dissolve the original seal, which took a couple of hours, then re-siliconed the tray. I tested it by running the shower down the walls, but was very dismayed that it was still leaking.
Our toilet is in the same room as the shower and I noticed that this didn’t have a seal round the bottom. This seemed to be where the water was escaping from. I researched if anyone had sealed this off but couldn’t find anyone who had. So I thought I would go ahead and do it anyway. This did the trick and we have no more leaks.
